Mesmer//Assassin IW concept;
I've been toying with the idea of using a Mesmer primary for an [illusionary weaponry] build with [feigned neutrality] and [illusion of weakness] as complimentary skills.
Qestions that need ot be answered;
Does [illusionary weaponry] make ALL attack skills (dagger specifically) auto miss and deal the armor ignoring damage instead or only normal attacks?
If so, would it be best to not spec into dagger mastery at all and get a better attribute to spam attack skills?
How do you make the best use of [feigned neutrality]? [arcane echo], [deadly paradox] and extended enchantment mods?

Illusionary Weaponry makes all your attacks automaticly miss, so attack skills won't work either, it just does the armor ignoring dmg and that's it.
No, you shouldn't put any attribute points into Dagger Mastery, since it won't make any difference.

Actually, it will make a difference. 5 dagger mastery = 10% chance for double attack. 10 dagger mastery = 20% chance for double attack. More attacks = more DPS.

You should only put your leftovers into Dagger Mastery, since you also need to stay alive. Therefor you should have 12 in shadowarts, and bring skills such as Feigned Neutrality, Dark Escape, etc..etc.

you could add dark escape to that concept as well I think. Make it last long enough with dwarven stability.
Still won't do as much damage as a dagger sin though...

IW can be fun and shadows arts works well with it but it seriously needs a buff to be more useful than other options in the mesmer line.

Barely.
Me/W is > even a Me/A in even ~40 Dagger Mastery because Flurry is the equivalent of having a 50% chance to double strike.

Me/Ws are easier to kill and have fewer defenses, yet do slightly more damage in pvp
Me/As survive pvp longer and have more options for cover enchants but do a bit less damage.
Me/D has a decent balance of defence and offense.

[shroud of distress] IMO better the [Illusion of weakness]
[conjure nightmare] Degenerate while hitting with armor ignoring damage
[Vipers's Defense] Wait for grouped targets or to get out of bad situation always good to poison more degeneration the better

Kurzick/Luxon skill might be an option too. I cannot remmember the name right now, but I think it has self heal and armor buff and being blinded is not going to bother you.

Nope. That's the Sunspear one, which won't work since you won't get critical hits.
I'm thinking of the Kurzick/Luxon one which gives you health regen, +40 armour and blinds you.

asassin profession is only a good thing for doing crits and shadowing.
while your doing illusionary weapon u cant do anything of this.
a good secondary profession for this kind of build is still warrior since you need the +16 armor from shield.
+10 tactics for example.. 1 blockstance for fleeing
skills like "unstopable" armor , "shiver (w)" ias "move like dwarf" for kd and slow target
dont do much casting things... think like a warrior who needs mor def then attack but with a higher mana pool
€: i understand IW-builds as fun builds... so i put in pve skills its no good for pvp cause no condis at all.

Or...you could take a good elite and be a good mesmer instead of one that tries to be like a warrior but fails at doing DPS.
I'd take bad skills in PvE, because anything works really, but telling me to gimp myself in PvP is just silly, because losing's not fun.

^take an IW Me/A in RA, AB, FA and tell me you're not having fun destroying SF/crit defense assassins,terra tanks, HH or riposte tank warriors, touch rangers and all the other suck builds you see in there. IW may suck, but it's the king of suck.
